Privacy & Security Policy
When you submit confidential information on compensate.com’s site, we want you to do so with absolute confidence that your sensitive information is being handled with all the care and protection it deserves. We believe that data transmission with our online technology is even safer than the traditional method of sending diskettes or input worksheets through the mail.
Data Communication: When a user enters any of the compensate.com online client areas or salary survey web sites, we automatically employ encryption technology to provide maximum protection against unwanted interception of user information. We use Secure Sockets Layers encryption (an RC4 cipher with 128-bit encryption and MD5 message authentication), and while we cannot guarantee the absolute security of data submitted in this way, SSL encryption makes it very difficult for your information to be intercepted while being transferred. SSL is the same technology used by most e-commerce, online banking, and online stock trading web sites.
Client/Subscriber Access to Company Data: When a subscriber uses one of the queries in the Results section to retrieve market data, the query accesses a database that contains consolidated summary information only. Company-specific source data is stored in a separate location that cannot be accessed by a user. Compensate.com will never release company-specific information to anyone not associated with the source company itself.
Third Parties: Information that you submit to compensate.com, including but not limited to individual contact information and organization data such as compensation rates and policies, will be released to third parties only with your written permission or as agreed to by your participation in a specific data reporting instrument such as a particular salary survey, or if required by legal or government entity with appropriate jurisdiction. We do not sell individual customer names or other unique customer information to third parties and have no intention of doing so in the future. Compensate.com will sometimes hire a third party to perform tasks such as data entry and to conduct salary surveys and associated analyses. We will provide information to such third parties only as it is needed to complete their assignment. We require third parties who have access to confidential information to agree in writing to our confidentiality provisions.
Policy Changes: If we decide to change our privacy provisions, we will post those changes on this web page. If you ever have any questions or concerns about compensate.com's privacy provisions, please email us at info@compensate.com.
